I had to laugh the other night when a female newsreader on Channel Seven said: “Police have arrested a man who was taking photos of women in public bathrooms”. I thought to myself: ‘Are we in Australia or Japan?’ But now that I’ve started on the brain dead TV news, I’ll continue. A regular occurrence now when reading news bulletins is the mispronunciaton of our far north city of Cairns. It comes out of their mouths as “Cans”. One would think they’re talking about a city in France?
